This dataset explores how access to and investment in early childhood education can influence educational and life outcomes across different student groups. By disaggregating outcomes by factors such as poverty status, race, and disability status, the data can help illustrate differences in trajectories and identify where early childhood investments may have the greatest impact.
The dataset also supports analysis of the potential return on investment (ROI) of early childhood programs and services, helping funders and policymakers understand the long-term value of investments that give young children a stronger start.
The dashboard is divided into four segments: The Need Persists, Health and Safety, Families and Communities, and School Ready. These sections align with the data provided under the different goals of the Birth Through Five Plan.
Please note, this dashboard uses data from publicly available sources including but not limited to the American Community Survey, SC School Report Cards, and the National Database of Childcare Prices. Data sources are cited throughout the dashboard.
